The President
President and founder Dennis Chung has been refining and perfecting Jamaican style patties for the better part of 38 years.  Dennis graduated from the University of Toronto in 1968.  He earned a bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.  It was during his junior year that he decided to open the first Jamaican patty retail business in downtown Toronto, Canada named Mr. Spicee.  It was in this little, downtown bakery where the famous Hotpie Jamaican style patty was created.

It was not until 1982, that Dennis moved his expertise to the United States and in May of 1986, Hotpie Inc. opened its doors to serve South Florida as its local market.  For the next 20 years, Hotpie steadily grew by the ambition of one man.

The Team
In 2005, his two sons joined his side in the business.  The oldest son, Paul earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of South Florida and went on to become a Senior Programmer Analyst for a telecom company, a credit card company, and a real estate law firm before joining Hotpie.  Mark cut his college career short to join the US National Men’s Soccer Team and went on to play professional in the Major League Soccer from its inception in 1994 until retiring in 2005.  He earned 5 MLS All Star Team appearances during his career with the teams Kansas City Wizards, the New York / New Jersey Metrostars, the Colorado Rapids and the San Jose Earthquakes.

Dennis’ keen sense of business and his faithfulness to the value of quality is what put Hotpie into a class unto itself.  His vision, his determination and his experience are the ingredients to the success Hotpie has earned.  Dennis’ sons, Mark and Paul have brought the spirit of competition and passion with an accomplished knowledge of corporate structure and strategic growth.  They brought with them renewed energy and new ideas into Hotpie for which a 30% growth rate has been achieved every year since their arrival.
